As a free and open source media player, MPlayer has become  one of the most popular and satisfactory video players in people’s multimedia life. Doubtlessly,  with high definition and a wide variety of media formats supports, MPlayer has been providing  people with great convenience when watching no matter DVDs, SD videos or HD  movies on their computer. Till now, the bottleneck of MPlayer lies in that it is  unable to directly play BD movies. Fortunately, people have figured out a  solution to back up BD movie to play in MPlayer. Following is a detailed  workflow of how to copy Blu-ray disc to play on computer using MPlayer, if you  are interested in it, just feel free to read on.

What you will need:
An internal or external BD drive

HOW-TO: How to back up  Blu-ray disc to play in MPlayer?
Step 1: Download, install  and run this bluray converter
Once run it, click “BD/DVD ROM” or “BD/DVD Folder” to load  Blu-ray movie files.

Step 2: Select an output  format for MPlayer
Click on the drop down list of “Format” to choose a format  for MPlayer. This Blu-ray  ripping software provides users with a wide range of output formats,  including SD videos and HD videos. For the sake of keeping high quality of BD  movie, I select “HD Video”> “MKV HD Video (*.mkv)” for instance.

Step 3: Adjust video and  audio settings
Click “Settings” button, then you are allowed to adjust  audio and video parameters in the following window, including codec name,  aspect ratio, bit rate, frame rate, sample rate, and audio channels.

Step 4: Start copying/ripping Blu-ray disc to MPlayer
Click the big button “Convert” to start backing up Blu-ray  movie to MPlayer. When the copying task finished, you can tap on “Open” button  to get the final files and add them to MPlayer for watching.
