iPhone 4 and Droid X comparison

MotorolaWith two of the most high-profile smartphones – the Apple iPhone 4 and the Motorola Droid X – having being introduced within a day of each other last week, comparisons between the features of the two handsets were only bound to crop up!

A broad comparison of the features of both the handsets reveals that neither of them can be considered a clear winner above the other – both have some outstanding features. While both the handsets support 720p video recording, the iPhone 4 is capable of recording 30 frames per second, and also boasts built-in video editing features.

In terms of size, the 5.0-inch high, 2.6-inch wide and 0.4-inch thick Motorola Droid X is pitched against the 4.5-inch high, 2.3-inch wide and 0.37-inch thick Apple iPhone 4. While the Droid X has the biggest smartphone display thus far, the iPhone 4 is a fairly slim handset, with a comparatively high resolution screen.

So far as the photo capturing ability of the two new smartphones is concerned, the camera of the Droid X is a cut above the iPhone 4 as it boasts an 8-megapixel camera, vis-à-vis the 5-megapixel camera of the iPhone 4, which incidentally is a dual-camera device.

One distinct area in which the Android 2.2 ‘FroYo’-based Droid X scores over the iPhone 4 is it brings support for the Abode Flash 10 software – a product that Apple apparently does not seem interested in!
